I create collage figures from old postage stamps. Creations of color, light and shadow, when viewed up close, become a study in philosophy, religion, geography, history and literature. Every stamp tells a story.
Buddha
Inspired by the pastel of the same name by Odilon Redon hanging in the Musee d'orsay.
Incorporating stamps collected over the years, this was my first piece.
Postage stamps on paper, mounted on raw silk. Original framed piece is 27 1/4" x 16 1/2". Archival Giclée prints available.
Gypsy
Inspired by a gypsy character in the French traveling theatre group Footsbarn in a production of Glen Hansard's beautiful song, "Time Will Be the Healer." Thank you Footsbarn! Postage stamps on paper, mounted on raw silk. Original framed piece is 27 1/4" x 17". Archival Giclée prints available.
Ganesha
See how many Ganesha stamps you can find in this Hindu God. Kingfishers for eyes. Travel to Zanzibar, India, Nepal, etc. Postage stamps on paper, mounted on raw silk. Original framed piece is 25 3/4" x 17 1/4". Archival Giclée prints available.
Bishnu
The Hindu god that sits on an eight-headed snake. His companion bird is Garuda. His pants tell the story of the Mahabharata. Postage stamps on paper, mounted on raw silk. Original framed piece is 27 3/4" x 21 1/4". Archival Giclée prints availble.
Dragon & Phoenix
Inspired by the paper carton containing take-out Chinese food. These creatures represent the yin and yang of existence.

Alice & Friends
Look carefully and you will find the rabbit hole within the wings of the Griffin, with Alice tumbling down. Alice stamps from Australia create the skirt. Postage stamps on paper, mounted on cotton. Original framed piece is 25" x 21 1/4". Archival Giclée prints available.
